I save energy by switching the electric oven to half, then off completely around 10 mins towards the end of cooking. The same with electric hobs. I also use the bare minimum amount of water to cook vegetables.

I also use energy saving light bulbs. The problem is that when they reach the end of their life, they go pop! It can be a bit scary especially during movies about haunted houses, when I had an energy saving bulb go this way.

I switch the rad’s in the room’s i am not useing, we share bath’s, only put water in kettle for the number of cup’s we need, switch thing off stand by including microwave.

make a duvet sandwich , on the bed , one to lie on, one over you,warm as toast// get a sleeping bag and sit in it when you read ,tv or radio//

I have just removed all the low energy bulbs from my home,after it was found they had very high U.V content.
As someone who has genetic melanoma,that is dang scary,so back to my old fashioned bulbs.

I think the save energy stuff is just another way of governments forcing us to pay for the low energy stuff that wont help,has anyone ever thought the changes in the planet are purely natural?.

Living as I do on my own, I find it cheaper to buy shirts and underwear clean and fresh from charity shops and do away with washing, and the aggravation of hanging it out to dry and then ironing it all. This gives me more time for Q&As. I also use a sponge instead of toilet paper, although I keep toilet rolls for visitors who are few and far between.

That bed looks perfect for my heated underblanket! that’s how i keep warm at night! Much cheaper and cosier then keeping the heating on.

To keep warm this winter turn your heating to frost setting so your pipes don’t freeze and then go and spend your evening around a friends house who can afford to heat their house or go and sit in a pub and make a drink last all evening its simple!
