What’s happening to my image?
Following last week’s announcement, the transition to the new Yahoo! Profiles is now taking place on Answers. You will start noticing changes in your options. What does this mean? From now on, instead of importing your image display from Yahoo! 360, Answers will use the image from your Yahoo! Profile. For those who like to have different images, keep in mind that in the future only one image will be displayed in all of Yahoo! Services. 360 users should update their image and make sure they keep the one they want.
To ensure that the image you want to show on Answers is the right one, we recommend you go to http://profiles.yahoo.com now and activate your new profile. Once you’re there, you’ll be asked to verify some information that you’ve previously shared with Yahoo!, and to select the image you’d like to share with the Answers community.
If you have never used other Yahoo! services and haven’t activated your profile yet, your image will show up as the “Gray Face.”
For those of you who display an Avatar on Answers – don’t worry. This won’t change.
Both Avatars and nicknames will continue to remain the same on Answers.

my avatar is too big to be cropped and looks silly and where is my 360? I have contacts on there not on answers..the profile page is rubbish, it should have been left as it was..

The link you are telling us to go to well it is not letting me go on it so I don’t know what to do and I can’t add a picture for my avatar untill after three weeks as I don’t have a computer at home so it is not fair if you put my picture to the grey thing as I have a picture at the moment can you give more info on how to do the avatar thing?
Have clicked on `my profile` and my chosen Avatar
is not there. I want to keep my picture of my GSD
- why are you changing everything – leave things as they are. what benefit is there to be gained from changing avatars?
How is anyone on Answers going to find my Yahoo 360 blog now?
it keeps freezing when I try to download a photo (it’s jpeg and well under 5mb)

Yahoo’s totally messed up. You need to fix the trolls, the “coffee breaks” and Yahoo 360, along with a load of other things..

Do I have to add all my contacts again? I cannot find them on my new page.

I was only able to use 360 on yahoo answers because of this!

THIS is asilly fu**ing idea revert back to using yahoo360 omages for our avatars because this new one tells me i need to crop my image and it looks awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whoever had thisidea of using yahoo profiles imagesfor avatar is a complete idiot and should have ther own head “cropped” off
what a stupid idea ther was no reason to update the avatar system its just worse now.
why dont u yahoo idiots be good and update useful things things that need changing like your spell checker
It wouldn’t be so bad if we could move our 360 blog to our Profile, but there isn’t even an option to write a blog on the Profile. You should give the option of blogging on Profile.
I dislike the new profile as well. I preffered to use my 360 photo, it looked better. I uploaded the same photo on the new profile to use as my Yahoo Answers photo but it’s fuzzy and looks bad. Why not just continue to let us use our 360 photo if we want to?

The link you have provided will not let me up date my avatar, I am stuck with looking like a space invader, why mess things up.

I have done all you asked,and still cannot access my 360 account,yesterday my Avatar showed after update ,later that day not only did the avatar disappear,so did the grey head?
Then on top of that I received a VIOLATION NOTICE,for asking the community where had they gone.
This is an atrocious way to continue.
It has to be said whenever Yahoo updates anything ,it makes things worse.
Have you never heard the adage,,”If it aint broke dont fix it ?”
If I cannot retrieve it today,,I will close my yahoo account.

Why change something that didnt need changing in the first place?? its confusing everyone!
Instead of mucking about with our avatar pics, sort out the clones and the trolls and the abusive users, that would make us happy!

thanks for your answer but it is of no help,when trying to edit on my answers page to bring up my new avatar on my profile page,,,the box states ,,”you do not have a profile,get one now”what is that all about,
NOW I have also got another violation,,,this is torture

How the hell are you supposed to activate your profile? I’ve updated, but I can’t find any “activate” button.
What a waste of everyone’s time.
I can’t adjust my avatar anymore. It just shows a small section of the picture and I can’t alter appearances using my favorites I’ve made or alter the colour of clothing. It’s extremely annoying. Please fix it!!!

It was a black and white photo of an indie guy,I want it back and the stupid accounts not working!!!!!! argh!
how can i activate my user i used to have an avatar but yahoo has put that grey face on instead and i can’t see where i can activate my avatar.
I’ve a nice avatar but I cannot put it up due to that vicious crop we’re forced to use as it makes my avatar look silly.
What is the point of all the lovely avatars with backgrounds you have if no one can see them properly?
Please get rid of that crop it is extremely annoying and oppressive.
