Gremlins in the system

UPDATE: 14th June. All issues below are now fixed. Thanks for  your patience on this!

Our latest release has unfortunately released a few bugs into the system which we are working to fix as soon as possible.

So what’s not working?

  • Extending questions:  When you extend a question the updated number of days until expiry is not reflected on your question.  It remains at the same number of days.  Don’t worry, the question has been extended and will stay open for the extended duration…. it just doesn’t show the correct number on the question page.  As an impact of this, you may see open questions which say `Question period ended`.  This is purely where the number of days counter has hit zero but the question has been extended.
  • Mails are not being sent when you receive a new answer to your question.  You will still receive other emails, such as when your contacts ask questions.
  • Our External API is not currently working.  If you make use of this tool on your website you may want to join this Yahoo! Developer Group to keep up with the latest information on this:  http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ydn-answers/

We’re working hard to get these outstanding issues resolved and will update this post when we iron out the bugs… Issues now resolved!

  2. I want to use Pulse to display my id picture on Yahoo! Services, and nothing else.

I don’t want to receive contact requests. There is a loophole stopping this. If anyone has captured my cryptic account code, he can still send a contact invitation, regardless of any settings I make.

Settings I do make in Pulse often don’t stay set. You keep switching ‘No One’ back to ‘Everyone’. When you add new Yahoo! services into Pulse, they are always set to ‘Everyone’ by default.

On the pages where every Yahoo! Service is listed, a facility is needed to set all the options to ‘No one’ without having to check each one individually.

My guestbook entries were all received over a year ago, but they are now all dated ‘Few moments ago’. The same is true of my comment on the Profile page.

My Home and Profile pages contain an endless stream of junk constantly pouring in from people I do not know and who are not contacts.

  3. I see no way of making Photo Albums and their titles private, even when the Profile is set to the highest level of privacy short of hiding it completely.

  4. Ah but now voting questions that aren’t tiebreakers don’t resolve. 100% votes=tiebreaker,it seems that you fix one problem and create another.
