Changes to Best Answer time, and to the Preview page
To continuing improving your Yahoo! Answers experience we have introduced a few small changes this week…
Changing time to choose a Best Answer
Based on your feedback to be able to resolve a question quicker, we have now reduced the wait time to choose a best answer from 4 hours to 1 hour. If you now receive multiple responses within an hour you can select one of those as your Best Answer, or choose to put the question to vote at this earlier stage.
The full lifecycle of a question won’t change – questions will still be open for 4 days and up to maximum of 8 days if you extend the expiration. This change gives you the option to resolve earlier or put to vote earlier. If you take no action to resolve or extend the question, the question will automatically go to vote for the Best Answer.
Optional Preview screen when answering questions
Many of you have commented that to you’d prefer an answering experience without having to see your response on the Preview page first. We are now able to offer this…
If you are signed-in with your Answers account and have answered at least one question before then when submitting your answer you can choose to Submit your response immediately without going to the Preview page first. We’ve kept the Preview page too, so you can still see how your response will look before publishing it.
What makes Yahoo! Answers unique is the avid involvement of the community it is YOU that provides the content so continue to ask, answer and vote!

Should have gone the other way. All this accomplishes is taking the pointgamers less time to award the BA to their “Master account”.
And, too many errors made it through “Preview” when it was required. Now, even more will make it onto Answers.
Retrograde changes which have no “improvement” potential, other than pandering to the lower tier of Answers users.
I like these changes. These are changes many of us have been asking for for years.
Thank you.

Love thsese new changes, would still like to see users starting at level 5 have unlimited stars
I’m from the original Yahoo.com (the United States one).
Changing the “choose ‘Best Answer’ time” thing from four hours to one is kind of bogus. Seems like you won’t get much answers even if (say in a nut shell, but happens in some cases) the only answer you recieved isn’t the best one. I would like it back to four hours please.
Can we please also have the Submit option on the Edit screen? Seems redundant to click on Edit after noticing a format mistake and have to preview on a format that isn’t a true format.
Thanks.
It is obvious on the Part of Yahoo to reduce the Time for selection of Best Answer from four hours to one hour.Yoahoo is not incuring any expenditure for the Points earned / awarded. It is not appearent as to why and how this Change has been made.
Actually and Practically the selection for Best Answer should be at least for Days which is the time limit stipulated for ldisplaying the question.Hence it is reasonable to krevise the Time for selecting Best Answer should bre for FOUR Days.
Meh, little tweaks to a system that is long overdue for some actual improvements.
Very few people vote for best answer, few questions have enough information, you can’t discuss an answer, you don’t get any feedback, you can’t post formatted code, images or anything else.
Not even changes to the administration of the site, everything still has to go through a clunky Yahoo process. How much better would this site be if Google ran it.
As others have said, these changes aren’t going to promote better use of the site.
