Yahoo! Answers blog

Hey everyone,

Doing things twice instead of once is always a bit silly, so recently we decided it would be best to make the US blog (US) the main focus for everyone who speaks English and wants to keep up to date with everything going on in the world of Answers.

On the US Answers blog you’ll find everything from product updates to Answers news, celebrities and topical posts,  competitions and of course Ask Mike (US), who blogs on curious, thought-provoking topics. You can leave your comments as well as Tweet and Liking posts on Facebook.

This means that for the foreseeable future the UK & Ireland Answers blog will point to the US Blog so for fresh news you’re better off heading there.  All our older UK & Ireland posts will remain here, from topical stories to our favourite, the profiles of amazing contributors that we call Featured Users.

Thanks for all your feedback over the years,

-          Yahoo! UK & Ireland Answers team

  1. Sorry to see yat uk team members leave, in particular I will miss Amanda who was always around YA community Yahoo! Groups – most probably on her own time (unpaid). I already miss her presense.

  2. Well, I have to agree this seems quite practical. See you over there then! :-)

  3. I second the comment of the first contributor. Amanda was the most proactive and generous of the staff members I have encountered during my 4 years on Answers in the UK and internationally. She really believed in engaging with users and it was obvious she gave 200% to her job. It is so sad that the UK team is no more. If any of the former Yahoo! UK staff (Answers or otherwise) should read this, I wish them all the very best for the future. The cream will always rise to the top.

  4. PS Mike … you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

  5. I wish we had the UK Yahoo Answers staff back as I thought it was alot better, but like people say you don’t know what you’ve got till everything that you loved has gone.

  6. Thank you for the kind thoughts. We are still here, just not as many of us. We still have time to help users when they need it.

  7. This I was not aware of….shows how little I read these things. I’m not surprised at this though, seeing as despite being in the UK, I’m always finding questions that were asked in the states, and this was even before this whole blog re-direction thing went ahead anyway!
